Crowdspring recently published a really nice infographic on how small businesses are using social media.
Two quick things before we move on to the highlights of the infographic:
1) If you haven’t noticed by now, infographics are one of the hottest trends across the web. Data analysts and marketers have realized they are a fantastic way to summarize and present a massive amount of data as clearly as possible.
2) Crowdspring is an awesome resource for small business owners who need creative work done at a fair price. While their business model is always under attack by designers who feel Crowdspring has commoditized the design industry, it is survival of the fittest at its best and you should do what is best for your small business.
Alright, on to the infographic! Here are some of the nuggets of information we found interesting:
— Social media positions are the 2nd most popular potential new hires after book-keeper
— Social media adoption by small business has doubled to 61% from 2009 to 2010
— 45% of small businesses expect their social media activities to be PROFITABLE within the next 12 months.
— Small businesses received more customer recommendations, traffic to their website and sales leads from Facebook than either LinkedIn or Twitter
