These days, your customers prefer online information.[source: Entrepreneur] Some 329 million people read blogs each month, and 27 million pieces of content are shared each day. That’s why “content marketing” – a catch-all phrase that refers to how a brand might delivering custom content though its website and social channels – is key to building relationships and loyal customers.
The infographic below shows that people spend more than 50% of their time online reading content and an additional 30% of their time on social media, where the content is being shared. Clicks from share content are five times more likely to result in a purchase. (The data comes from a variety or sources, including Hubspot, Content Marketing Institute and iContact.)
The research finds that the greatest amount of content is being shared across the following:
- 93% email
- 89% social networks
- 82% blogs
- 81% message boards
